Weekly coding update, a practical weather experiment

This week had two strands: a small practical experiment for climbers, and another step forward on Draft Path's idea-to-plan workflow.

A weather tool with a clear use case

The new project is a simple Northern Ireland climbing weather site. It is built to answer a very specific question quickly: what do the conditions look like at a few familiar climbing spots?

Rather than becoming a heavy app, it keeps the shape lightweight. The site checks live weather in the browser and turns it into a quick condition score for places like Fair Head, Garron Point, The Mournes, and Boulder World. That makes it more like a useful field note than a general weather dashboard.

Still refining Draft Path

Draft Path also continued in the background, with more work around the concept dashboard and the plan revision flow. That keeps the product moving toward the same goal as the last few weeks: helping someone return to an early idea, look at it from a few angles, and improve the plan instead of starting over each time.

Overall, this was a good reminder that useful software does not always need to be big. One track was about a narrow tool for a real-world decision, while the other was about making an existing product feel more thoughtful over repeated use.
